Black Is Beautiful Volume 2 Release

We’re proud to release the second volume of the Black is Beautiful collaboration brew. The Black is Beautiful project was initiated by Weathered Souls Brewing in 2020 to raise awareness of the injustices people of color face daily and has raised over $5 million to date in support of local organizations and engaged over 1,500 breweries worldwide. 

 Volume Two of Black is Beautiful supports the National Black Brewers Association’s work in developing and growing black brewers nationwide. This year’s iteration is a vibrant, hopped-up hazy IPA. We’ll be releasing Black is Beautiful at our Boston Brewery and Downtown Boston Taproom on Thursday. February 1st on draft and in cans and have partnered with our friends at Dunamis for the release of this beer to spotlight local black artists.  

At the Downtown Taproom, Stephanie McKay will be performing a musical spotlight on Friday, February 9th from 6:30-9pm. Stephanie Mckay’s musical style fuses folk, funk, hip-hop, and soul. Her American Dream lies is at the intersection of music, community, and education and she is also a member of the Folk Collective at Club Passim and is featured on the award-winning Black Lives from Generation to Generation compilation which features 25 artists from around the world. 

On Friday, February 2nd, Naijah Nine will have an opening at the Boston Brewery, showcasing their visual art in the Taproom. Naijah is a black, queer artist who seeks to engage in a dynamic exploration of the human experience by focusing on authentic portrayals of trauma, mental health, and marginality. Their mixed media works will be on view in JP all month.
