Innovating through the Brewing the American Dream Series

We have absolutely been lovin’ the innovation that’s been brewing alongside Rhythm Brewing Co’s founder & brewmaster (as well as THE first black woman to own a brewery in Connecticut), Alisa Bowens-Mercado and Taproom Head Brewer, Megan Parisi. The Sam Adams Boston Taproom is excited to announce that we’ve been working with Rhythm Brewing to create Midsummer Lovin’ our third collaboration together and the first of our newly established Brewing the American Dream Series.    

Midsummer Lovin’ is a sparkling lager brewed with passionfruit and blood orange, released on the longest day of the year, June 21st (AKA Summer’s Solstice). It's fitting that this beer is bright and full of fantastic fruit forward flavors that we are sure guests will enjoy. "A sparkling lager symbolizes and emphasizes what we aimed to accomplish as working collaborators. The use of South African hops in this brew is a classic Rhythm Brewing characteristic while the brewing technique is most reminiscent of Sam Adams,” explain Bowens-Mercado and Parisi. Back in 2021, the Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom launched a series of beer collaborations known as the Sam Adams Innovation Collaboration Series. Collaborations thus far have featured local regional breweries including Black Viking Brewery, Fifth Hammer Brewing, Break Rock Brewing, and many more.  With a mission to support and highlight the incredible talent in the local community, a goal that very closely ties to Sam Adam’s Brewing the American Dream, the series is now known as The Brewing the American Dream Series.      

Rhythm Brewing is known for bringing in inspirations from music and dance to their beers, and this time was no different. Join us for Midsummer Lovin’s release during the Summer Solstice this Wednesday, June 21st from 6-9pm where the taproom will be celebrating with dancehall beats by DJ Carlitos Wave and a delicious double empanada pairing from The Perfect Empanada, a Brewing the American Dream entrepreneur. For a limited time, you can enjoy Midsummer Lovin’ at the Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom in draft or in crowlers to-go. Speaking of crowlers to-go, make sure to check-out the beautifully designed crowler wraps we are sure you’ll be lovin’, the art was inspired by Rhythm Brewing’s “Finding your Rhythm in Life” motto and the two strong females that collaborated to make this beer a reality.
